On Wednesday, Cockburn stopped by Sovereignty or Submission: Restoring National Identity in the Spirit of Liberty, hosted by conservative publications American Greatness and The New Criterion at a private club in Washington.
Cockburn heard a wide-ranging discussion about nation states and governance, featuring Spectator columnists Daniel McCarthy and Roger Kimball, as well as the Hoover Institutions Victor Davis Hanson, the Heritage Foundations David Azerrad, American Greatness editor Chris Buskirk, National Reviews John OSullivan, and Hillsdale College and Claremont Institute fellow Michael Anton.
Over lunch, Tucker Carlson delivered a keynote speech on what he has learned since Trumps election. The Fox News host observed that President Trumps arrival to the White House has worked like a truth elixir: people are sort of admitting what they really think in a way that they never did, especially here in Washington, which is a very buttoned-down city. To elaborate, Carlson said that a lot of people here have drinking problems, but theyre all secret.
Cockburn nearly choked on his chicken meal, worried Carlson was referring to yours truly. Thankfully, the Fox News host directed his attention to Bill Kristol.
Carlson argued that when Trump criticized the Iraq War on the campaign trail, Bill Kristol and the rest of the left, referring to the former Weekly Standard editor as a Trotskyite, launched a full opposition against then-candidate Trump. Within 20 minutes [Kristol] was trying to get Tom Cotton and finally settled on poor David French, referencing the writers failed primary challenge against the future president.
According to Carlson, Trumps presidency has affirmed that the left is only concerned about political issues like the Iraq war: In a world without God, politics is kind of all there is, adding later in his speech that Ted Kennedy killed a girl and they had no problem defending him.

Reading Lee Smith’s book now. It’s a must-read. But it will make you very angry.
the solution to the deep state problem is easy.
The president should have the power to FIRE anyone for ANY reason in any government agency. Then he should USE that power upon taking office to FIRE them ALL! and make them RE-APPLY for their old jobs, in determine in that process whether they should have it.
It’s THAT simple.
Absolutely....
(?) How so.??
Yeah, Dimocommies always seem to have the liberal-commie Pravda-MSM on their side. They can murder a woman, commit dang near every criminal act known to man and Pravda-MSM always, ALWAYS!!! backs them. Christian, conservative, Southerner, Patriot, Military, etc., you are screwed into the ground. They hate us with a passion and will do everything to hate us, blame us, against us. It has always been that way. Sad, but there is little to know known conservative press these days. We are simply on our own. Us against the commies and we are extremely outnumbered.
Yeah! Now watch him be accused of anti- semitism, but who cares?

JFK had his own go-rounds with them
What incidents do you have in mind
><
He wanted to rein in the CIA and the Banksters, among other things.
They killed him.
BINGO!
I want that bumper sticker.
I think there are a few of those on that list that have come around to support Trump.
“Politicians seek problems, not solutions”.
That’s a winner!
“We all need to thank Tucker as he was the reason Shep Smith left Fox News.”
(?) How so.??”
Per Esquire
It came to a head on air at the end of September, when Smith hosted Andrew Napolitano, a former judge who has been refreshingly clear-eyed with respect to Trump’s constant stream of crimes and impeachable offenses, and the judge called the Trump Ukraine phone call criminal. That night, Carlson hosted pro-Trump lawyer Joe DiGenova to attack Napolitano’s assessment on-air. As the feud continued, Carlson ended up calling Smith “partisan.”
According to Vanity Fair, network executives told Smith to stop attacking Carlson and that “if he does it again, hes off the air.”
Tucker blasted Shep and the Judge for being anti Trump partisan during news coverage.
Thus Trumps later tweet demeaning Napolitano and calling him Shep’s “pal.”
Nice. Chatsworth called Billy a drunk. Who didn’t know that.
I loved it. It was proof-of-concept that the rot of the Swamp extended deep into the RINO Trotsky cadre.
If Trump had said that all along, where was the proof? THERE WAS THE PROOF.
Andy McCarthy is a perfect example, a turd-polishing mandarin who has come around waaay too late.
He was threatened with being fired and he quit.
Everything I have read from Dana Loesch has been pro-Trump.
What did Dana say about Trump before the 2016 election? What did she write in National Review? There were many self proclaimed conservatives who were anti Trump right through the election. Some have changed since then, out of principle or careerism or whatever. I dont know much about Dana and where she stood re Trump during the 2016 election. Did she support Trump against Hillary?
