A tragedy for the nation – and democracy
NY Post ^ | October 31 2019 | Michael Goodwin

Another day, another giant step on the road to ruin. Either Nancy Pelosi has lost her mind or she really wants to dig America’s grave.

The vote to formalize the impeachment jihad is a great day for Trump haters and a tragedy for democracy and common sense. Coming a year before an election and without a compelling claim that the president committed anything remotely resembling “high crimes and misdemeanors,” the action is an abuse of power for purely partisan purposes.

The timing is also exquisite. Voting on Halloween, and on the same day when Democratic Rep. Katie Hill took to the House floor to declare herself a victim of a double standard after she was caught engaging in threesomes with her husband and a campaign aide, the picture of a party seized by shamelessness is complete.

The Left’s gonna have a Constitutional awakening that will either convert it or kill it — an ultimatum of its own making.

...a tragedy for democracy...

Are these people stupid or ignorant?

What democracy? America is a Constitutional Republic.

While I attempt to correct others on this as well, the writer IS against the Democrats - so I’ll cut them a break! Another pet peeve of mine - I try never to refer to them as the Democratic Party or Democratic Senator - I use the term Democrat instead.

We DO have a democratic form of government - a democratic republic. (Boy - those founding fathers were really smart and inspired by God IMHO.)

The writer is against constitutional republicanism so I'm not giving them a break.

We DO have a democratic form of government - a democratic republic.

We have democratic elements in our form of government. The Constitution makes America a Constitutional Republic.
If we are a democratic republic, as you claim, then simply prove it.

As you can see, I'm not giving you a break either.

I keep saying the same thing - we’re a republic, not a democracy.

Keep the expression "supermajority" in mind when trying to prove your assertion.

You know...something that thing called the Constitution requires in certain circumstances. (see footnotes page 1 in link above)

My evidence of democratic elements in our form of government.
I see you have yet to provide evidence for your assertion.

You're right, yet you have to emphasize the Constitutional aspect.

There are many republics in the world.
How many are Constitutional Republics?

But don't you see, the Rats don't want people knowing exactly what kind of political system this country is supposed to be based on.

The more they cry "democracy" the more people will forget, or not even realize, that this county is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic.

Heck, I bet most people don't even know what that term means!

I never thought I would see the day when the Politburo would emerge in The House of Representatives. We all saw it raise it's head last year on the minority of the Senate Judicial Committee during Justice Kavanaugh's hearing. Now it's running the House and might end up running Congress if American Pravda has it's way.

The pledge?! Maybe, maybe not.
If they did it didn't register.
Their ignorance proves they haven't read the Constitution.

Oh, I see (I know, sarcasm) and you have it right.
As for myself, I'm not going to sit by and let it happen...as you can see. (not sarcasm)

Ultimately, removal of your inalienable rights is their goal. That can't happen if people know their constitutional rights. Just one more reason to push democracy...the majority rules, the Constitution be damned.
Thus, your rights have to give way for "the common good of the majority".

You sure don't care about standing by your assertion. Low pride factor?

May I presume by your inaction that you were just full of BS and ignorance on this issue all along?
Have you learned something today?
(rhetorical questions, but you can answer them if you want)
