Rising seas could affect three times more people by 2050 than previously thought, according to new research, threatening to all but erase some of the worlds great coastal cities.
The authors of a paper published Tuesday developed a more accurate way of calculating land elevation based on satellite readings, a standard way of estimating the effects of sea level rise over large areas, and found that the previous numbers were far too optimistic. The new research shows that some 150 million people are now living on land that will be below the high-tide line by midcentury.

obama better hurry up and sell his martha’s vineyards compound before it’s too late ...
Let’s see— San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, New Jersey Shores, etc....ALL liberal cities!!
Ive never said a prayer for more global warming, but you are tempting me yuugly.
Liberals have no idea how to apply some simple layman’s common sense.
Even if they can’t use critical thinking in terms of the fake evidence, they ought to be able to use this much reasoning power:
If 150 million people who are not under water now are going to be underwater in 30 years, we are so SOL already that the only thing we can do is party down dudes.
At the pace they are claiming and have been claiming we should be able to see, visible to the naked eye, signs of rising sea levels on a monthly basis. Which we obviously are not.
I had some years ago an interesting though quite futile discussion with a liberal friend. One with multiple degrees in mathematics and research. I pointed out to him the tiny percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the percentage of that which results from mankind. Thus the percentage of the atmosphere that is carbon dioxide generated by humans is so insignificant that if we wiped out the human race it is unlikely to have the slightest effect on the environment.
These so-called researchers like to talk about CO2 in terms of millions of tons. The average math illiterate has no concept of how minuscule millions of tons are in our total atmosphere. Fill up your swimming pool and spit in it. Then try measuring the increased level of the water. That’s about the proportions of man’s contribution the total atmosphere.
I thought Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that the world is going to end in 12 years, that’s what she said alright and everyone knows that any bar maid from Manhattan is an expert on everything. So if the world is set to end in 12 years where are these sea levels coming from? Who cares any way? We aren’t going to be around, right?
We’re all gonna die.
Wouldnt underground water increase land acquifer amount thereby raising the land mass?

If you live to 2050, you’ll see plenty happen. A lot of it unpleasant. I’m pessimistic about our future but maybe I read too much into the Book of Revelation in the Bible.
If if drove north from Charleston SC for a little over a hour, I would come to this,

Was the beach in prehistoric times and everything south of there in the US was underwater. So a couple of inch sea level rise doesn’t concern me one bit compared to that.
Will it put the fires out in California?
Sounds like a scam by realtors to obtain seaside properties for resale 12 years from now. Obama doesn’t believe it since he just bought a beach front property.
Not only is man’s CO2 contribution compared to the natural CO2 cycle miniscule, but CO2 is not the most active “greenhouse” gas. That honor belongs to water vapor most commonly seen in clouds. 400 times more relevant, and less described. Manmade CO2 isn’t even in the noise of the science. And the question of lagging indicator or causal factor is still unproven.
It is not science, it is faith and by the methods of argument, clearly very monetarily important to some groups.

Sure they will.
Dont buy property in New Orleans. That ground was a flood zone with mosquitoes big as bats when the French landed there. Native Americans told them better move on to higher ground. You can see how that advice worked. If you gotta damn the ocean out your an idiot, if you get your pumping systems right it still wont last. Steal the money and say hi to Katrina.
what happened to the old research that said we’d already be under water? Woopsie doodle!
How many times do they gotta be wrong before they admit they don’t know what the heck they are talking about?
“Rising seas could affect three times more people by 2050”
So what. According to the Democrats, no one will be alive.
The Magic Negro can stop the oceans from rising. Put him to work.
According to new research, yadda yadda yadda, enjoy your new life as a turnip farmer comrade!
