The real underlying reason no one runs is the lack of job security. It takes you out of your career track and defuses any upward career momentum you might have had. Imagine if you suggested to an accountant that he run for architect, with the proviso that he might be fired from his job once every few years, with no chance of ever becoming an architect again. Why would anyone with serious talent who was not already a zillionaire run for office, unless his alternative was being a bartender?

I see your point.......I always thought that LAWYERS making LAWS to make their living easier if they went back as an attorney in private life to defend or dispute the laws they made.......I hate them all......(except for maybe 10 or 15) in the whole Congress........grrrrrr
