House approves legislation setting up rules for impeachment inquiry

Update: Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives secured enough votes on Thursday to pass legislation setting up the next steps in the fast-moving impeachment process involving Republican President Donald Trump.

The vote is the first formal test of support for the inquiry that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched on Sept. 24. The impeachment inquiry focuses on whether Trump pressured Ukraine into helping him in his 2020 re-election campaign, a charge the president denies.

Previous report:

WASHINGTON - U.S. lawmakers will cast the first vote on Thursday in the impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump as the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives takes up a measure that sets up the next steps in the fast-moving effort.

The vote will be the first formal test of support for the inquiry launched on Sept. 24. Democrats, who control 234 seats in the 435-seat chamber, need a simple majority to approve the resolution.

The measure calls for public hearings and the release of transcripts from closed-door proceedings. It also outlines what rights Republican lawmakers and Trump himself would have to participate as the process moves ahead.

Two D:s voted Nay. One I voted Aye. Three R:s did not vote for some reason. (Rep Brady stated he would not legitimize this sham proceeding with his vote.)

Where is the IG report? Why are no subpoenas being issued in the Senate?

Democrat party line vote as expected. Given that its a sham masquerading as a legitimate inquiry, the vote came as no surprise.

The same day the whistleblower was (widely) exposed as a 30-something pajama boy with deep ties to Biden and friends planted with Schiff.

We live in interesting times.

Weird.

They must know they are becoming the best selling outlet for the Trump team.

Just sent in another donation, which I had not intended to do until the 15th...

"The house today personified bias corruption while totally ignoring the will of the people they were elected to REPRESENT."

It’s actually us citizen voters who are being politically impeached.

So, Biden sells the Vice President’s office to the Ukrainians and the demonrats want to impeach Trump for investigating it. Is that an apt summary?

The reporting is not sloppy. It is deliberately phrased to deceive the public. It worked before the 2018 election and is a big part of the reasons that the Dems took over the House. I hope it does not work again in 2020

And how does that pass muster? Ford’s take on this is not the be all and end all on the matter.

“An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.”

In a practical sense, perhaps. But this is not what the Founders intended. Leftists (AKA the reason we can't have nice things) break and misappropriate whatever they touch. That's why the differences between the Left and Right are not mere differences of opinion. That's why go along to get along RINOs must be shunned and ridiculed at all times.

The Rodent Party abuses their offices.
