Unfortunately, you are delusional in your self-assessment. You (i.e. Democrats, liberals, 'progressives') are not, in any conceivable or defensible way, the keepers of virtue. Further, you're not liberals, in the classical sense, and are more retro (e.g. uninformed admirers of tired old failed Marxism) than you are progressive.
You are not the thought leaders, nor are you the thoughtful. You are more like a group of earnest and often privileged children who went to Julliard to learn to play violin, or cello, or french horn, and learned the notes and the fingering - but don't have the spirit of music in your soul or the creativity that would allow you to make new music - not just master the notes of that which someone else created.
In short, all the education and privilege in the world, and all the 'culture' in Manhattan won't make you what you pretend to be.
The fact is, that if you truly want to grow and be someone who helps humanity to achieve more than it has, you have to let go of your ego that tells you you are smarter than, more tolerant than, and have superior opinions than those 'bumpkins' in fly-over country who your friends and colleagues call 'deplorables'. Open your mind, and reflect on the fact that you live in a country founded on the principle that 'all men (and women) are created equal, and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, including the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Embrace the fact that you are one of many, and that you just might learn something if you took the time to hear others instead of living in your echo chamber.
