The U.S. is on track to not admit any refugees in October, following the cancelation of hundreds of flights intended to bring refugees to the country, CNN reported Tuesday.
Admissions had been slated to resume Tuesday after a temporary halt, but the extended pause will now continue until Saturday. The delay marks the third time this month that admissions have been postponed, according to CNN. Revised travel plans, including the re-booking of tickets for taxpayer-funded flights, will now be required.
The initial pause on refugee admissions was set to expire Oct. 21 but was pushed back to Monday. A delay in arrivals usually occurs during the first week of October, a State Department spokesperson said in an email to The Hill.
The spokesperson said the department informed our implementing partners at the end of fiscal year 2019 -- Sept. 30 -- that the typical delay would be extended.

Best President Evah.
Progress. I approve of immigration: legal immigration that benefits the country as a whole and working Americans in particular. I do not approve of immigration that floods our country with welfare cases. I do not approve of immigration that changes the culture that created the wealth that attracts productive immigrants. I do not approve of any form of illegal immigration.
It’s time to put a complete stop to all immigration until the current problems are fixed. Number one on my list is to deport all illegals. No exceptions. Then we can fix our immigration laws and resume a normal, slow rate of (legal only) immigration for skilled, productive people.
how about never admit anytime until the end of Trump’s presidency?
I am guessing that is because the fiscal year ends on September 30 and there isn't money available.
Resettling a third world savage to a first world country is very expensive.
Are US taxpayers funding these trips? We certainly should not be. Refugees are supposed to be able to take care of themselves, so they arent a burden to us.
Yes. We need a moratorium on immigration of any kind and refugees as well. There is a historical precedent.
Make it permanent!
Or at least keep it going until we can go back to ALL package labels being ONLY printed in U.S. English.
Also until we have TOTAL control of our borders.
Then bring back the immigration requirement that immigrants be genuinely fluent in English BEFORE they get to the US.
Anmd finally, lets see real health screening, no more disease carries allowed in.
And yes, that DOES include AIDS.
Excellent!
Many haven’t become Citizens from the Vietnam era. If they haven’t become Citizens and learned English they can go back to Vietnam, Cubans, and All those Somalis and other Muslims too, give them 90 days then book a flight home.
My grandparents came from Italy after WW1 legally, Grandpa Joe made everyone learn English and become Citizens and embrace the American way. My dad was the only 1 born a Citizen until the nieces and nephews came along.
Oh darn... /s
Now, a few decades of that and we could have half a chance of getting back to normal.
Works for me.
Stop them entirely!
Now we need a two decade immigration ‘time out’.
Now we need a two CENTURY immigration time out...
Fixed it.
Que lastima.
Followed by audit and deportations
