A high-ranking Army officer and top White House Ukraine expert is expected to tell House investigators Tuesday that he twice raised objections to his superiors about how President Trump and his administration were interacting with Ukraine out of a sense of duty."
A draft of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's opening statement says he became worried when outside influencers were spreading a false narrative about Ukraine.
Vindman will testify behind closed doors Tuesday to the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight and Reform committees. He will be the first official to testify who directly witnessed the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky that is at the center of the House's impeachment inquiry.
I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. governments support of Ukraine, Vindman says in his statement. I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.

#8. Re a request for a foreign govt to investigate a US citizen - what makes US citizens exempt from criminal and subversive investigations any place in the world. Phillip Agee and his American cohort, Yahoo/Newsweek writer Mark Hosenball, were investigated and thrown out of England for subversion.
We had hardcore pro-communist journalists in Nam who were kept under some watch and a few were expelled for various reasons including Mr. Hanoi “Don Luce”.
You can be damned sure that the French Surete’ kept John Kerry under surveillance during his trips to the No. Vietnamese/VC embassies/legations in Paris and possibly Versailles.
The same for American SDS leaders who went to Europe to forment student riots there (France, Germany, possibly England). Americans were involved in the KGB “Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament” in England and CND representatives came to the US to agitate here (I knew about them through communist sympathizer contacts).
Interpole watches American criminals/suspects in foreign countries, at out request, all the time. No big deal.
Is he conerned about the 3 senators who really tried to interfere with Ukraine aid? He’s talking about Rudy when he speaks of false narratives. Will anything ever be done about them?
There really does need to be massive arrests of corrupt judges and politicians in this country. Arraign, no bail due to national security risks, hold for trial, take 5 years for it go to trial.
Bill the families the cost of incarceration and the bullet once sentenced for treason.
Lt. Col. was a common rank for CIA agents embedded in the military during the Vietnam era.
I had a relative who was career CIA/Army with that rank pre Vietnam. He used to joke that the enemy knew who he was. The USA were just trying to fool themselves.
That’s why a Sr. CIA staffer just came out supporting him.
Here is a cut & paste of this morning news...
“Former Defense Department and CIA chief of staff Jeremy Bash blasted a segment on Fox News The Ingraham Angle as absolutely despicable, after host Laura Ingraham and her guest, legal professor John Yoo strongly suggested a Trump national security official, Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, could be guilty of espionage after news broke that he plans to testify to Congress that he objected to improper White House political influence toward Ukraine.”
Here is the Wiki on Bash
“Jeremy B. Bash (born August 13, 1971) is an American attorney.
He was the chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Defense (20112013) and the Central Intelligence Agency (20092011), both under President Barack Obama.
As a senior advisor to Leon Panetta in both roles, Bash worked on a number of key initiatives, including the creation of a new defense strategy, formation of two defense budgets, counterterrorism operations, a new cyber strategy, and a range of sensitive intelligence operations.
Bash was married to CNN journalist Dana Bash from 1998 to 2007.
I did not think it was proper...
Well you poor little snowflake. Maybe you should be assigned to latrine duty or something not so stressful.
Per Wiki
In 2000, Bash served as the national security issues director for the presidential campaign of Al Gore and Joe Lieberman. In that role, he advised the candidates, their surrogates, and staff on national security policy matters, including the Middle East peace process, counter-terrorism, non-proliferation, missile defense, and trade.
From 2001 to 2004, Bash was in private law practice with the firm OMelveny & Myers in their Washington, DC office. His practice focused on congressional investigations, regulatory matters, and litigation. He then served as chief minority counsel on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the U.S. House of Representatives and as an aide to California Representative Jane Harman, the committee’s top Democrat.
Bash was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mark my words, this political hack, puke of an officer will be showing up running for political office wherever this turd is from. Guaranteed.
It is strange world we live in when it’s a criminal offense for a president to request help from a foreign ally to investigate a foreign corporation for of possible graft, corruption and election meddling...but is just fine for a US President to order the FBI and CIA to spy on his US political opponents using the flimsiest of excuses and out right lies to deceive a federal court into granting the OK to do it.
Obama weaponized the CIA, FBI, and DOD in addition to the IRS.
Trump needs to do a lot more housecleaning.
Vindman claims that he was disturbed about Guiliani pressing a “false narrative” about Biden’s corruption? How did he KNOW its a false narrative? Why is he busying himself vouching for the “integrity” of some other politician? Why is a relatively low ranking Army officer of Ukrainian heritage busying himself with politics when he is supposed to be assigned to the White House for strategic support?

He owes to allegiance to the Party, Deep State and its ongoing coup d’etat and not to the county he now claims to represent. How these low level spies get anywhere near top secret and privileged conversations astounds me. Although ever since Obama appointed a Communist to head the CIA, nothing surprises me anymore.
about as “high ranking” as another NSC alum — Oliver North.
Lol...no.
Was it a problem for all that good ole bipartisanship when companies located in Ukraine or for all we know Ukraine itself was helping dems to tamper with our presidential elections?
Meanwhile the transcript of the call is still out there and this guy’s opinion amounts to nothing when it comes to finding high crimes etc. etc. for impeachment.
The Democrat politician of today = lazy and lame.
Except that ain't what happened...
The President, unlike Congress, also has the power to open diplomatic channels simply by engaging in direct diplomacy with foreign heads of state and their ministers.

There is a hell of a lot of difference (in aptitude, training, leadership, and ability) in a Marine Corps colonel than an Army colonel.
