Goodwin: Why are Democrats acting like they have something to hide?
NY Post ^ | 10/26/19 | Michael Goodwin

With no end in sight to the madness gripping Washington, it is wise to seize on any possible sign of humor to brighten the day. In that spirit, a statement by Reps. Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler qualifies as the mood booster of the week.

Responding to reports that Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into the 2016 spying on Donald Trump’s campaign is now a criminal probe, Schiff and Nadler laid down their thumbscrews and emerged from their impeachment dungeon to express outrage. In unison, the twin Trump tormentors declared that partisanship has infected the Justice Department and “the rule of law will suffer new and irreparable damage.”

Despite stiff competition from two centuries of congressional hypocrisy, that is a first-rate howler. If you can’t laugh at Schiff and Nadler accusing anyone else of damaging the rule of law for partisan purposes, you don’t have a sense of humor.

They have violated every historic precedent, not to mention simple decency, by conducting their impeachment probe in a secret star chamber. They leak juicy fragments to the media echo chamber, which would be a federal crime for real prosecutors.

Then they squeal and gnash their teeth when the worm starts to turn. Come on, people, this is hilarious!

Schiff, Nadler and many other politicians and MSM propagandists are guilty of treason. I hope they get what should be coming to them!

Read one theory that this impeachment inquiry is going nowhere and that Nancy Pelosi knows it even if Nadler, Schiff & AOC don’t. The goal is to keep the democrat voters stoked so that they turn out in November 2020 in sufficient numbers that the House stays in the control of the Democrats and Nancy herself. You see she has already calculated that Trump is likely going to be comfortably re-elected. And if his re-election turns into a slam-dunk because of the inquiry then it’s ultimately worth it to her because she remains Speaker. And that — children — is how the Deep State rolls.

Because it is becoming increasingly clear the DNC is a criminal enterprise bankrolled by globalists?

And the influx of globalists comes from our Diplomatic Corps, which seems to have a life of its own. And its own goals. And CIA cooperation / protection.

Sydney Powell was right. It starts and ends with the State Dept. (Hillary).

Rush posits the purpose is to drive down PDJT’s poll numbers so far that he resigns, ala’ Nixon, without vulnerable dems ever having to vote to impeach.

In any event, I believe the cold anger building in the patriot faithful and independents will overwhelm the rats in 2020.

If the Republicans want to spend another 8 years in the political wilderness like they did when Nixon resigned — then they better smarten up. I think Mitch McConnell— no fan of Trump — recognizes the score. He want’s to keep putting originalist judges on the federal bench then he needs Trump and Trump needs McConnell.

The flipside is how badly will the Democrats be hurt. And this is where this extra-constitutional “Impeachment Inquiry” comes in. All smoke, no fire. But Democrat voters will be mollified and will pull the lever from their D-congresscritter. But then they’ll wake up to Trump for another 4 years and have another meltdown.

While it may have seemed longer, Carter was President only 4 years. Contrary to how some feel, Ford was a Republican. After Mr. Peanut it was Ronaldus Magnus.

The impact of Nixon’s resignation was felt in the House until 1994.

Which is exactly why Trump won’t be bullied out of the White House. And Cold Anger is going to do a lot more than just keep Trump in the White House. IIRC the record for number of seats gained on coat tails is 129. Let us pray Trump beats that record as well.
