Just wondering, at the end of this fateful day, if 1) any reporter will put a mic in front of General Mattis today; and 2) whether he’d give praise where praise is due?
The general is with them now, so he will not be placed in an awkward spot.
I did read about Gen. James Mattis reportedly profited off heling Theranos perpetrated a fraud. The book "Bad Blood" make him look not the brightest.
I was all over his AOR in 2004. Supported his FOBs, visited his bases and wired up his TOCs and BUGs. Never saw him once. Never even heard of him until some press story about a meeting in Diwaniyah with his famous ‘I’ll kill you all’ story. I think it was all BS staffers puffing him up.
The 3rd AD did the heavy lifting and fighting in Najaf and Karballa when the Mahdi moved in. That was a war in the MND-CS. No one knows about it. There were no Sunni video ‘journalists’ outside Sunni areas so no one knows what happened. The 3rd AD took prompt and full advantage of this right away. Lol.
My first visit to Camp Baker, Najaf was in convoy rolling in behind some 3rd AD’s M1-A2s headed into camp. That night (Friday) they set up on a knoll and lazed the Imam Ali Mosque down the boulevard. After evening prayers the dumbasses human wave assaulted the T walls and concertina wire of Camp Baker. I’d left already but we heard from 7-11 NG it was a bloodbath. Two weeks later I was back there and it still stunk with stained dirt and ripped cloth in the wire.
