LOS ANGELES — Firefighters were scrambling Thursday night to stop the spread of several wildfires as dry, windy conditions fanned flames throughout southern California. Tens of thousands of residents were forced out of their homes near Los Angeles and in wine country to the north. Widespread blackouts were expected to prevent trees from falling on power lines and starting additional fires as forecasts for the weekend showed the potential for strong winds gusting up to 80mph.

Every time there's called Santa Ana winds then scattered wild fires it always remind me about John Leonard Orr a then fire chief arsonist still rotting in jail and how many John Leonard Orr started some fires?

“...Widespread blackouts were expected to prevent trees from falling on power lines...”

In the future, how are they going to evacuate when the power is out and the vehicles are electric?

How’s the fire equipment going to get to the fire and continue to operate?

——Widespread blackouts were expected to prevent trees from falling on power lines-——

No, that is not true.

The black outs are to prevent ignition from powerlines downed by falling trees and producing sparks. The power outages do not prevent trees from falling

The power lines will be broken by falling trees but if there is no electricity, there can be no sparks.

It's disgusting that the last fire which incinerated people as they lay and fled was conveniently sucked into the memory hole. It goes to show people are expendable to the left and these disasters will continue.
