Police in Ukraine said on Friday they had detained a foreigner wanted in the United States on suspicion of hacking into computer systems and stealing $6 million from American financial institutions.

The 32-year-old man, whose name and nationality was not given, was detained in a hotel in Kiev where he was living temporarily."The man is suspected of illegally interfering in the operation of computer systems, fraud, theft and money laundering in especially large amounts," the police said in a statement.

U.S. law enforcement bodies have been investigating the hacker's activities since 2010 and asked for Ukraine's assistance this year, the police said, adding that the Ukraine government was considering extraditing him to the United States.

Officials at the U.S. embassy to Ukraine were not immediately available for comment.

Clearly this is some sort of quid pro quo and President Trump must be impeached or something.

There should be laws against this quid pro quo business. There shouldn’t be any of this going across state lines, or conducted after sundown.

Clearly he was working with Patriots in the Obama Administration since then anticipating Trump’s rise and worked closely with our intelligence communities to facilitate protecting our democracy from the Russians and preventing radical americanist politicians from taking or exercising power. Sarcasm - off

The guy that’s been holding towns and hospitals hostage until a ransom is paid. It is a big problem that has been kept quiet.

I am not too sympathetic to organizations that hit with ransom ware. There are very simple IT protocols that can be instituted to prevent an attack. In many government orgs porn access is not blocked. Until that happens they are vulnerable.

He just has to decleare himself a political candidate for something here in the states and he is off limits. Can’t be investigated or proscuted.
Could probably run as dog catcher somewhere.

holding towns and hospitals hostage until a ransom is paid.

If that is the case, I hope he falls out of an open door in the plane on the way here.
