That's one option. Another plan would be for the Senate to wait and see if the morons in the House actually do anything. Chances are good they will never even schedule a vote to impeach. But if they do - Sentate Republicans should immediately vote to decline the remove of the President.
Either way - Trump wins.
So, just sit back and let the Democrats control the story for weeks.
Here's what's going to happen, I believe. For the next couple of weeks, the Democrats will continue to hold these closed door hearings, letting the Republicans whine toothlessly about them not holding a vote or having public hearings, but not doing anything else. Then, sometime around mid November, they're going to hold that vote to open actual impeachment hearings and it's going to pass. Then they're going to start holding televised hearings based on what they've already got on the record from the closed hearings and those are going to go up until the holiday break. They may or may not hold a vote for impeachment by that time. The idea is to let that story just sit through the holidays while the House and Senate are on break.
