The Seattle Public Schools Ethnic Studies Advisory Committee (ESAC) released a rough draft of notes for its Math Ethnic Studies framework in late September, which attempts to connects math to a history of oppression.
The framework is broken into four different themes: Origins, Identity, and Agency, Power and Oppression, History of Resistance and Liberation, and Reflection and Action.
The committee suggests that math is subjective and racist, saying under one section, Who gets to say if an answer is right, and under another, how is math manipulated to allow inequality and oppression to persist?
Jason Rantz of KTTH in Seattle noted that, ESAC is made up of a number of educators and was created due to a legislature mandate to advise, assist, and make recommendations to the office of the superintendent of public instruction regarding the identification of ethnic studies materials.'
It is also stated in the document that Western mathematics is used to disenfranchise people and communities of color.

The teaching profession and the administrations have been infiltrated and become an area that is run by minorities. This is the explanation for the deterioration of the education within the US. Just take a hard look in the failing schools and convince me otherwise.

Of all the school subjects I would have assumed history to be racist, not math.
This senior is an emergency sub for the local district. . .you know the 6 a.m. phone call or a few hours a day (which often adds up to quite a few days a month). What education and legislators have done to mathematics is downright criminal. If I had school-age children, I would be either homeschooling or private-schooling. Have a highly intelligent nephew who has failed a few assignments and/or tests because he did not show his work the “insane” way. I think it is time that parents (who care) sue the districts for thwarting the earning potential of their children. Just sayin’!

The idea that "math is racist" will insure that the above statement is true to the helots.

The goal of the progressive left is to do away with absolute truths. If there are no truths in the world, i.e., two sexes or 2+2=4 then truth becomes whatever Big Brother says it is and can be changed daily. The Left already does this with language now they are moving into areas of thought.

WASHINGTON (Oct. 22, 2019) The National Transportation Safety Board determined, during a public board meeting held Tuesday, that load and capacity calculation errors made by FIGG Bridge Engineers, Inc., are the probable cause of the fatal, March 15, 2018, Florida International University pedestrian bridge collapse in Miami.
Contributing to the collapse was Louis Bergers inadequate peer review, which failed to detect FIGGs calculation errors in its design of the main span truss member 11/12 nodal region and connection to the bridge deck. The FIGG engineer of records failure to identify the significance of structural cracking observed in this node before the collapse, and failure to obtain an independent peer review of the remedial plan to address the cracking, further contributed to the collapse.
In the end, the bridge, building, power plant, refinery, airplane, train, road, etc get to say. As well as all the dead people.
How will a sane nation ever repulse the incredible stupidity and ignorance of these idiots who want to send us back 3,000 years?
I see know movement in that directions by the white, college educated 40ish mothers in my family. Every time something like this comes up I ask them about it. They can always rationalize it away. One has even admitted openly that she is so invested in the progressive political agenda that it colors her view on everything. They both have young school age children.
Another example of the mischief that comes out of “Colleges of Education”!
Disband these colleges & end the .Ed degree!
If you want to teach get a degree in a real discipline. (note: “fill-in-the-blank” studies degrees don’t qualify!)
Require 1 year of supervised teaching and then your a teacher.
