A top Missouri high school football team forfeited all wins from an undefeated 2019 season and the program's head coach was fired as part of self-imposed sanctions after it was discovered the squad was using an ineligible player wearing a different jersey.
**SNIP**
Cardinal Ritter self-reported the use of an ineligible player to the states high school sports governing body Tuesday, according to the Post-Dispatch. The issue stems from the school using a player who was supposed to be suspended for the first game of the season but played anyway using a different name.
Junior Bill Jackson, who was ejected from the 2018 Class 3 state championship game, was set to be suspended for the teams first game of the 2019 season. However, a player, who later was identified as Jackson, appeared in a No. 24 jersey for the teams first game. For the charade, the player was identified during the contest as freshman Marvin Burks. The next week, Jackson was back on the field, but this time with his own name and wearing his normal jersey.
Jacksons unique tattoos apparently gave away the scam.

A couple of the parents in our sides bleacher questioned that one of the batters at the plate had been pulled out earlier for a pinch runner and was now back in the game with a different number. We all started watching a lot closer and saw this happen a second and third time. Lots of shouting to the plate umpire finally got his attention and he kicked a couple of players out the game for jersey swapping Didn't kick the coach out as well though. My son's team won the game.

Coaches yes. AND everyone else as well!
my son goes to a private Christian school and tons of football players form the public school will reclass and come into the Christian school for 11th grade in order to be seen by scouts. They might not have been the star at their public high school but since the Christian schools are smaller they normally end up being major players on the Christian school team so they get seen by college scouts and get to be stars their last 2 years. Most all of the kids are older than the normal age group and many graduate at 19 or 20. It is ridiculous...
Stupidity all around.
Ah the ole switch jerseys trick Also useful for players ejected and to come back into the same game.
