The first insiders narrative on the travails of retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has been filed in federal court amid a battle over access to multiple pieces of evidence.
Flynn, convicted of lying to the FBI, had to sell his home to pay legal bills, says the narrative. Prosecutors threatened to go after his son and business partner, Michael Flynn Jr., unless he cooperated.
Sidney Powell wrote this story in a letter to Attorney General William Barr in June as she was taking over as defense counsel for the former White House national security advisor.
She broke from the blocks running, accusing the government of withholding exculpatory evidence that would show prosecutors violated U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivans order. Her motions essentially have been an attack on special counsel Robert Muellers probe into Russia election trespassing, though Flynn was convicted of lying to FBI agents on another matter.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon L. Van Grack responded this month with an attack on Ms. Powells tactics. He said the government owns no such exculpatory, or Brady, material and accused her of advocating conspiracy theories.
The drama is set to play out at a hearing next month and sentencing in December. Meantime, Ms. Powell won the judges permission to reply to Mr. Van Grack with an extended brief that has been filed but not redacted for public viewing.
In his reply, Mr. Van Grack, a veteran of the Mueller team and thus a Powell target, chose to include an attachment: The June 6 Powell letter to Mr. Barr.

Its about time one of these Deep Staters talked.
Time to pardon Flynn.
No need. All these convictions are going to be set aside.
Better the judge should exonerate him
It’s about time the OLD republicans in d.c. begin to stand up for Republicans, instead of sitting on their collective thumbs and bow to the socialist/communist democrats who are doing everything in their power to turn America into a Soviet Union.
Those who used lawfare and threats of prosecution of his family should be fined an amount equal to his lawyer Bills and the cash handed over to him... Each and every one of them.
What about the attorney who sold him down the river???
Pardon means guilt.
DOJ should drop all charges against him.
Im sure when this is all over, Sydney Powell will be going after Flynns first lawyers who could have had the charges dropped within a month or two. They were working with the prosecutors, and stretched out the case so as to put Flynn in bankruptcy, threatened his son and sons family, this extorting a guilty plea for something he didnt do and a crime that while on the books, has never been successfully prosecuted and likely unconstitutional. His first attorneys had to know that.
