No, he is the majority leader and he DOES NOT need to sit down and map things out. He can simply specify how it will go. Here’s the beauty of it. If Schumer doesn’t like his plan, his only alternative is a filibuster to shut it down.
The dems have zero power in this instance. It isn’t the Repubs needing to get something they want and needing a 60 vote margin. It is the other way around. The only power the senate minority has is the power to shut it down... which is what WE want anyway.

There is nothing to map out. There has been 2 impeachment trials before and they were over in a matter of DAYS. Andrew Johnson’s impeachment trial was over in THREE DAYS on 11 articles.
