Trump might as well tell the House to hurry up and impeach him already
New York Post ^ | October 22, 2019 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 10/22/2019 11:56:01 AM PDT by TBP

President Trump should want a rapid impeachment process. The Ukraine story hasn’t been good for him, and there is only one way out — to get impeached, and the sooner, the better.

Impeachment is baked in the cake. There is no way that Democrats, having opened an impeachment inquiry, although without a vote, can pull up short now. How could they, after touting revelation after revelation, including a supposed “confession” by Trump’s chief of staff?

If there are Democrats in swing districts holding back the House from impeachment, Speaker Nancy Pelosi will have no option but to twist their arms to get to a majority when the time comes.

Trump should want it to come as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, if support for impeachment is about 50% or a little higher, there is every reason for Democrats to stretch it out. The current process suits their purposes nicely. They interview officials in private and then leak the most damaging parts. There’s no danger of public hearings bouncing the wrong way … because there are no public hearings at all.

But he should be secretly rooting for the rapid arrival of Impeachment Day.

It will be one of the biggest stories of the Trump presidency. Then, like everything else, it will grow old very fast. Impeachment won’t be forgotten, but it will fade into part of the tapestry of endless Trump controversies

The Democrats are writing a ten volume novel.

The Shiv already read the first few pages (which he made up out of thin air).

They need to bring in some Hollywood screen-writers to make the plot more interesting.

These things take time!

The case against Lowry.

The “Never Trump” taint still lingers three and a half years later. National Review’s editor, Rich Lowry, said that, regrettably, that (the entire) week’s magazine was remembered as the “Never Trump” issue magainze. “I wish they’d never come up with that phrase,” he said. Mr. Lowry, spent three weeks recruiting and assigning writers for the issue

“President Trump should want a rapid impeachment process. “

If that were true, Trump could get any GOP House member to float an impeachment resolution, which takes precedence over all else and MUST be voted on by the entire House by rule ... which leads me to believe that the Trump campaign has evidence that the secret Star Chamber antics of the House Dems and their otherwise completely do-nothing legislative accomplishments benefits Trump, and that the longer the Dems carry on, the more the voters will turn against the Dems ...

I’m sure the loser Demo who represents my district will vote to impeach, even though she pretended to be an independent kind of Democrat when she was campaigning. The Republicans thought they were so clever by lumping in some suburbs with parts of cities hoping to dilute the city vote, but they didn’t bank on the “soccer moms” getting their undies in a twist over Trump. I certainly hope my district will return a Republican to the House, even though the guy who had the positions isn’t worth much and is running again. He’s still better than a Democrat.

Lowry is drinking too much Swamp water. The more the Democrats drag this out, the more shrill and ineffective they become. Did he never the story of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”? The Democrats are quite noisy in the Swamp. Real Americans have been ignoring them for several years now. The Swamp will die, “not with a bang, but a whimper”. Lowry will drown along with them.

“There’s no danger of public hearings bouncing the wrong way … because there are no public hearings at all.”

Bullshit.

Public or not public, the Democrats’ effort to override the 2016 election and preempt the 2020 election is going to backfire badly - it already has.

The voters have the power to decide who is president a year from now - and I guarantee they do not appreciate the legislature trying to hijack that process or usurp that authority.

Moreover, the Democrats and their fake news media whores have been publicly embarrassing themselves so deeply for three years, that one can only conclude they have become blind to how their own toxic behavior comes off. It is NOT a good look.

They have already shown the public a hateful and dark side that is simply not compatible with responsible governance. They have already proven themselves to be liars, cheats and hypocrites, who will stoop to any depth. There is no lie too absurd for them - and remember, it is the public who is being lied to. It is the public who is being taken for fools.

All of this will not be lost on the American people.

And here’s the best part: Meanwhile, despite 24/7 fake news narratives to the contrary, guess who has behaved with honor and dignity throughout this shameful episode? Despite fake news lies to the contrary, guess who has been the adult in the room? Guess who has stayed focused on the economy, jobs, putting America first, keeping campaign promises, defending the unborn, appointing good judges, defending the constitution? Despite his hilarious tweets, guess who has not let himself get dragged into the ugliness of the swamp and who has stuck to telling the unvarnished truth?

President Donald Trump, that’s who.

I think there are tens of millions of totally disgusted voters who just can’t wait to vote against these sanctimonious prick Democrats and whoever they decide to put up against the President in 2020.

IMHO
