Editorial: Undoing the great mistake of 2016
LA Times via Bozeman Daily Chronicle ^ | 10/22/19

Posted on 10/22/2019 3:44:37 AM PDT by Libloather

As the 2020 election approaches, the United States is deeply and bitterly polarized, shaken by acts of random and not-so-random violence, with wages still rising too slowly, income inequality continuing to increase and the American dream feeling more and more out of reach for too many people. Despite low unemployment and a frothy stock market, voters feel a deep anxiety about the future and a dark anger at the political system.

With just a year to go before Election Day, global alliances are fraying as the U.S. turns inward. The culture wars are raging on campus and off. For only the fourth time in American history, a U.S. president is being investigated by the U.S. House of Representatives with an eye toward impeachment. Immigrants are being demonized and detained; homelessness is reaching crisis levels in big cities; and craven, self-interested lawmakers have Congress paralyzed, unable to act effectively on these and other policy issues, including the terribly urgent matter of climate change, which threatens our very existence.

Flitting above this chaotic landscape - fomenting, provoking, preening, spewing, tweeting, blustering and bullying - is President Donald Trump, the worst, most dangerous president in modern history.

The homeless problem in the big cities this article talks about: ALL RUN BY DEMOCRATS. In most cases, they have been FOR DECADES.

The problem isn't the "orange man bad" guy sitting in the White House. It's failed Democrat social-engineering policies that got us here.

Related. For anyone curious about what's going on with the Bozeman paper...

Who are the Adams family, and why are they buying newspapers by the dozen?

Marxist president put “former” Communists in charge of the FBI and CIA and the Secretary of Hate leaked tens of thousands of classified documents to foreign powers. Obama’s drone strike policy was the sole motivation for the Orlando Pulse nightclub massacre.

And the LAtte Times has the AUDACITY to label Donald Trump the most dangerous president ever. How could this man be ‘worst’ when he turned around the economy and put American interests first when it came to employment, trade, and domestic oil production?

Barrack Obama said that those jobs weren’t coming back and that Americans would have to adjust to $4 a gallon gas, not driving where they want, and not setting the thermostat at whatever temperature they want to.

How odd, the streets are lined with the homeless again. The last we heard of this crisis was when Ronald Reagan was President.......one has to wonder, since California is always hardest hit, if they aren’t Hollywood extras.

Making up fairytales of inequality even though the jobless rate is down and the stock market is up. They must be talking about the “if its free its for me” crowd that’s whining. “A divided America where its hard to make ends meet” Yeah if your sitting on the couch at 10 am sucking down a colt 45 and waiting for the postman to bring you that government check.

They may be able to defeat Trump at the polls in 2020 but they can never undo what happened in 2016. Those who elected Trump will never forget what they were able to do, and will look for a like-minded man or woman to elect in the future.

I live near Green Bay and I certainly don’t see any of the disaster the LA Times sees I see growing families and a Saturday shopping scene that is vigorous and happy. I also see new businesses opening and expanding up every month including hotels restaurants and manufacturing. The one exception is the dairy business. Life is good up here and the Packers are 6-1

And in any case, impeachment is not the preferred way of ousting a president in a democracy. Voters need to keep their eyes on the prize: defeating Trump state by state, issue by issue, vote by vote in November of next year.

At least the author(s) understand the true principles - I've always said, don't like Trump - "fine" vote him out the next time around ...

The rest of the opinion smells just like all opinions do!

Polarized by leftists “resisters” who won’t accept the results of the election.
Violence on campus by intolerant leftists

A democrat impeachment, guaranteeing this will become the new normal when the House is run by the party opposite of the president.

No less important, the extremists have shown there is nothing to be gained by accepting the incoming democrat as a legitimate president. The new opposition should launch into immediate investigations, testimonies, and partisan impeachment hearings.

Contempt for truth is the evil most fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilization. It feeds delusion. Nothing incites fury like truth threatening delusion. When truth threatens mass delusion, it incites mass fury.

Those suffering from delusion, by definition, are unaware that it is delusion or that their fury results from the threat of truth. They can be very dangerous.

The Dems were hoping that President Hillary would have sent $billions for the "homeless problem", which the usual suspects would have been able to divert to their friends and cronies.

President Trump caused years of careful planning for a graft bonanza to go up in flames.

“Those who elected Trump will never forget what they were able to do, and will look for a like-minded man or woman to elect in the future.”

If they manage somehow to drive President Trump from office there won’t be another Republican elected to that office again.

Period.
