At 89, Clint Eastwood isnt slowing down.
In fact, his upcoming drama Richard Jewell began shooting in July and is primed to make its Oscar season debut Dec. 13.
Eastwood is known for his unfussy filmmaking. Still, given his age its reasonable to think he wants to tell as many stories as possible before he leaves this mortal coil.
And then what?
Eastwood is irreplaceable on a number of fronts. Hes one of the most successful actors to transition to directing, earning two Oscars for his behind-the-camera efforts (Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven.).
He hails from an era where movie stars mattered. His list of legendary performances starts with Dirty Harry Callahan and the Man with No Name but stretches to include Bill Munny (Unforgiven) and the title character in The Outlaw Josey Wales. Even Philo Beddoe (Every Which Way But Loose) conjures warm, lasting memories.

You are so right. He IS one of a kind.
His CLASSIC movie was THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY.
I still watch it whenever it pops up.
I am sure that their current practice of scouring gay bathhouses all over california has not worked at all.
Are there any alpha male types in Hollywood anymore?
No more like Clint Eastwood,John Wayne etc. until Hollywood gets rid of the UnAmerican POS running Tinsel town.I’ll stick to the oldies.
BTW, Eastwood's son Scott is a spitting image of him. I would love for him to do a sequel (or a prequel) of the Any Which Way movies.
Absolutely, Rummy - all you have to do is look at the current Hollywood ‘leading’ men to realize they broke the Clint mold.
Has he public announced a disgust for Mitt Romney by now. Remember Clint was priceless with his classic piece on Obama’s empty chair at the RNC.
I first saw him as an extra in the sequel to, “Creature From The Black Lagoon”. I would never have seen him if Svenghouly (however you spell his name, had not pointed him out.
Matt Dillon?
Let me get this sauce of my hands and change my T shirt and I’ll head off to Hollywood.
I got this.
Agreed, Clint Eastwood is one-of-a-kind.
clyde carried clint in those movies...
right turn clyde.
bam.
Can't think of any else -- literally -- who was as successful as both an actor and director. He's A list at both.
Chris Pratt is the only actor capable of even coming close. He needs a good western.
But The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was a great movie too. The final standoff scene is iconic.
Gran Torino was so politically correct and I don’t recall anyone whining about it.
I think I have seen that but don’t recall any details.
I’m just waiting for Max to call me...
And now, for some fine music. I love this movie more now than when it came out. So much great stuff.

Love it when the old biker guy gets in the camper at the end and Clyde gives him a kiss on the lips.
Revenge of the Creature, a sequel.
