Solomon was 13 when he took the throne, so the sins committed happened 14 years prior to David’s death................

Huh. I was sure Solomon was 20 when he took the throne. I searched through the Bible and the best I could find was that his son Rheaboam was 41 when he became king, which means he was born a year before Solomon became king, which meant he was conceived two years before. If Solomon were 20 at kingship that'd make him 18 at marriage.

Why do you think Solomon was 13?

I have always been told that Solomon was a young teenager when he ascended the throne.

Wikipedia says he was “about 15” at that time, but we don’t really know the exact ages of any of the people.

So he could have been 20 or even older or younger.

All we know for sure is that he was almost usurped by his older half brother and that he was eventually eliminated for treasonous behavior...............
