Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have "utterly failed", Chancellor Angela Merkel says.
She said the so-called "multikulti" concept - where people would "live side-by-side" happily - did not work, and immigrants needed to do more to integrate - including learning German.
The comments come amid rising anti-immigration feeling in Germany.
A recent survey suggested more than 30% of people believed the country was "overrun by foreigners".
The study - by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation think-tank - also showed that roughly the same number thought that some 16 million of Germany's immigrants or people with foreign origins had come to the country for its social benefits.

The Turkish guest workers In Germany did not go around stabbing Germans. They were polite. And grateful to be there.
If you’re referring to diverse culture, actually it’s not. Germans ended up with the Jews because the OTHER countries kept kicking them out (dirty little secret). Any time there is a significant population besides the original culture there is going to be some resentment. Hitler preyed on that, but it was easier to do because basically the “good” countries already got rid of their Jews so did not alleviate the population.

Yep. “Mosaic” countries all fail. Sometimes they spin apart violently. Sometimes they spin apart relatively peacefully. But spin apart they do. British India, the old Soviet Union, and Yugoslavia are all good examples of that.
The other day I got a bank notice. It was printed in like 20 different languages! So yeah, why bother assimilating when it’s so easy keeping yourself separate?

Merkel is still not willing to admit the truth. Muslims don’t come to integrate; they come to conquer and subjugate the infidel.

I mean, I cannot believe she may have come to her senses - and stated so publicly....
She still can bring herself to admit that to a large degree the problems involving predominately just who are the majority of immigrants who can’t or won’t assimilate.
She also refuses to divulge the extent to which her own intelligence servioces now khow much Erdogan is working against true “assimilation” of Turkish immigrants to Germany, and using them as a fifth column against the people, traditions and culture of Germany.

Multiculturalism is a lot like socialism. It sounds really good on paper, but is disastrous in practice. ......................
