In the Mormon endowment ceremony, a man is given a new (first) name. The same name is given to every man that goes through the process on that particular day. Women also get a new name.
A woman is obligated to tell her husband the new name, because they believe that Jesus raises the Mormon men from the dead, and the men in turn, call out the name/s of their wives. This is how the women are raised from the dead. So, the husband has to know their name/s and apparently had to have been pleased with the wife. Also, the husband is totally forbidden from giving his new name to his wife. It’s funny how he pushes issues like women’s rights on the rest of us.
