On the theatrical side, I think more than two-thirds of the country now just wants the madness to end and some path to the future to occur. This ‘Payton Place’ soap opera theme in Parliament, with people watching the debate for hours and hours...is now a problem.
The only way for this “madness” to end is to implement brexit. Most leavers would choose mo deal over no Brexit. We aren’t going to slip away quietly if the establishment cooks up a plan that keeps us in the EU, whereas a significant proportion of remainers accept that remain lost and therefore doesn’t have any moral standing.
It sure seems that way - that everyone just wants it to end now.
The problem is that even if there is a no-deal, even if there is a deal, that’s not the end.
If a no-deal then there will be misgivings, and future negotiations.
If there is a deal, there will be future trade negotiations.
This isn’t going to end.
