Hopes of a "phase one" trade deal between the United States and China have fluctuated since Friday, when President Donald Trump announced that the two countries would soon be signing a preliminary agreement.
Even as talks between the countries continue, as Beijing and Washington seek to iron out the details of the "phase one" agreement to end the 18-month trade war, China cautioned on Thursday that the long-running conflict won't end until the U.S. removes all tariffs levied since July 2018.

China is NOT saying, despite the lame newsweak claim, that tariffs since July of 2018 must be removed before the interim agreement reached last week can go into effect.
What they are saying is that for the trade war to totally end, all tariff increases must be ended. This will happen, imo, when the entire trade deal is negotiated to a satisfactory solution for both sides.
This article is written deliberately to mislead the ignorant to believe he INTERIM deal is in jeopardy which is not.
I think you’re right. I guess we’ll see if there’s a preliminary partial deal that doesn’t remove all tariffs levied since July. I would be satisfied with progress, I can wait for perfection.
The emoval of all tariff increases since July of last year was never part of the incremental deal agreed to last week.
If you read the article it is very clear the Chinese are talking about removal of tariff increases being pulled back before a FINAL agreement is reached.
Note to farmers: Hold off on purchasing more land and larger John Deer’s.
China will buy what it eats.
It will simply, not be buying direct.
In my opinion.
Yeah, I get it. You explained it well in your previous post.
It's a wait and see.
My question / guess is even once trade is fully restored China will have fewer US companies wanting to do business there?
They can buy all the corn we can produce and we can then get rid of ethanol.
Hm .... so the Chinese embracing Tortillas could deter the corrosive effects of ethanol on metal in our engines?
