Guess you missed the 2016 election then, cuz it wasn’t hype.
Yes, Trump only got 8% (pretty common for Rs) but another 3% STAYED HOME in FL, NC, and PA at least (where we have data).
That means, in essence, Trump got close to 10% “real” black vote. That would be a high since, I think, the 60s.
Bush got 11% in 2004. 2008 and 2012 are throw outs. Again, hopeful hype.
The stay at homes were the black males that would not vote for a white woman even if the alternative was satan himself...
The dems still have not learned their lesson, which can be seen by Chief Fauxcahontas leading in the polls. Now, if the dems do what I think they will do and get Big Mike the Wookie to run against Trump, the Black vote will break 95% dem yet again. There is the double edged sword of identity politics and why more and more, the dems are willing to throw the Blacks under the bus in favor of women, gays, and hispanics. You gotta keep enough of a herd in the victim category to come up with your electoral margins and energizing outrages d’jure...
interesting numbers. 10% “real” black vote in 2016. I didn’t know 3% stayed home in key states.
Hillary only got 78 percent of the black male vote.
I believe that helped in maybe 3 or 4 states quite a bit.
black women went thee usual 96 percent dem because they need the gov to take care of their daddys babies
But 78 percent instead of 96 percent black men going for the dem was a Big change. and a good one.
