President Donald Trump and his legal team have threatened to sue CNN for violating the Lanham Act.

If CNN "said it was fair and unbiased" in the course of selling advertising, that could mean big trouble.
Two newspaper editors from upstate NY went to jail for giving advertisers false information.
Interesting idea. If nothing worse, it will focus public attention on their lies.
The media establishment - mostly because of the out of control behavior of some of its leading lights (way too much rape and drugs!) - is not really anybodys favorite nowadays. Well, maybe the hardcore left, but most people arent in that class.
Would a legal argument to that be that in its actions, CNN is no longer acting in the capacity of a news organization, but as an advocacy group?
Enough. Don’t threaten, do. Otherwise shut up about it.
When CNN said it was unbiased....its said now that this was a bold lie. Same for suggesting it was totally neutral.

Most leftist newspapers have a housebroken “conservative” on their staff to feign being “balanced”. CNN doesn’t even do that little.
Yep. My take is that the goal is not to actually sue. The goal is to get this out there in front of all americans. I get a feeling Trump will be overtly and aggressively taking the offense, running against both the democratic nominee and the MSM.
Crews weren’t sent in. A CNN employee approached Project Veritas last Spring with tapes and agreed to keep taping. His tapes reveal dissatisfaction with the liberal bias and dissilusion with the current state of journalism among many at CNN. The man who taped all this is a liberal, registered Dem, Bernie supporter and he’s brave, lost his job, unlike the Congressional whistle blowers, he has stood up and acknowledged what he witnessed publicly. I heard O’Keefe on the radio the other evening say that PV would be interested in hearing from employees from other networks with similar stories to tell. (I am sure they are out there, fingers crossed they make contact.)
Oh Crap CNN, MSNBC, SeeBS, FOX News, OAN. They are **all** slanted and biased. They only spin the news in the manner they have learned from their viewer demographic ($$$) that they want to hear. And they spike stories which erode or challenge their narrative. The whole system is corrupt and no longer represents journalism.
Im still waiting for Nick Sandman to get his day in court.
Who said he didn’t?
Maybe he is just waiting for the CNN story to run its course.
He should sue the parent companies of the other alphabet news...
Right. I heard the whistleblower’s inverview, and how he contacted O’Keefe at CPAC. But I was thinking that if O’Keefe knew taping would continue, he could put someone in at MSNBC and other venues.
Somehow, this simile doesn't work for me. Maybe something with a donkey in it would work better. ;o)
Because the guy worked at CNN.
His gofundme is overfunded. He said he has been getting emails about work opportunities. What a brave man. Compare him to shifts phoney whistleblower. Oh and CNN removed his last pay from his account.
I have argued for years that all the lefty media needs to do is come clean.
They just need a disclaimer—We support the Democrat Party and the following public policy views:
(long list).
Just tell the truth. It is not _that_ difficult.
Yes, indeed! Why isn’t this an “in-kind” donation to the Democrat Party?
Yes; I know. I saw the interview with the whistleblower.
I’d be willing to bet there already are other people doing just that.
Yes, it will flush the liars and bigots into the open, where their propaganda techniques are on display for all to see. It’s not as though they have any credibility left anyway, but I suspect some people still watch them thinking they’re getting news.
