Thank you, W. Mitt Romney. I know little about Syria and Turkey, and less about the Kurds. Since Romney is blasting the decision, I am now confident it is a good one.
This ceasefire cedes an area the size of Hawaii’s main island to the Turks. It would be as if, after Pearl Harbor, the US did a ceasefire with Japan that involved moving the entire population of Hawaii and the Pacific Fleet to the mainland. It’s a good deal. For the Ottomans. The Ottomans don’t want to fight anybody. They’d love it if they could get a ceasefire like this for the entire world.
Unless you simply hate Trump without logic, I have a hard time understanding why we need to be here. Syria has nothing. Turkey’s worthless. The Kurds have even less. We have no national interest here. ISIS? They’re all over the world in various incarnations. Why is it our problem to irradiate them? Why not Europe or the Arabs???
I can’t see a single good reason to shed our children’s blood in this sh*thole, and Romney can either go there himself as a soldier of fortune or shut the hell up.
Kate Steinle’s death in a sanctuary city is a bloodstain on our history. Corportist Romney’s POTUS nomination is an underwear stain on our history. Romney is making it so easy to “vote for my wife” should a GOPe candidate appear on my ballot.
Every so often I would go on line and find the site of Time magazine covers from the time they began until they folded.
Each weeks cover would represent someone important (at least at the time). I consider myself fairly knowledgeable but I am amazed at how many of those men (and later women) have remained important.
But most have been forgotten. I would have to look them up to see just what it was that got their face on Time magazine.
Ten years after he dies few outside his family will know who Mitt was. Twenty years and he will be completely forgotten.
President Trump however (like him or hate him) will always be remembered.
So Mitt, please sit down and shut up and try and think of something useful you can do with your life.
