Republicans in Congress: Time To Walk Away
American Thinker ^ | October 17, 2019 | Peggy Ryan

Today the big question in Washington is, will Democrats actually impeach a president of the United States without cause, without a crime?  Scary, right?

But we're told not to worry, because even if House Dems impeach, the GOP will stop it cold in the Senate.  So desensitization worked.  Just say "impeachment" over and over for three years until the threat that used to set off alarm bells now barely moves the needle.

But even though people aren't up in arms, Washington's unholy trinity, (Democrats, media, and the Deep State) don't want their coup to look like a coup, so they gin up plausible offenses.  The Deep State spies, and media lie to frame a president: Russian collusion, proven false; obstruction of justice to the Russian non-crime; and now the "whistleblower" Ukraine complaint, again debunked.  Yet Democrats still demand impeachment. But can they impeach without a crime?  Fact is, they don't need no stinkin' crime; they have a House majority.  They can impeach the president for his two scoops of ice cream should they so desire.

Is this how our government was set up, to allow one party to singlehandedly remove a president from office for no reason?  Yes and no — it's true the House needs only a majority to impeach, but a "party majority" was never the intention of our founding fathers.

<snip>

The founders setup a government by the people, now including 435 Representatives and 100 senators, to represent every citizen in every state in the Union.  So a farmer from Nebraska and a stockbroker from Wall Street are both equally represented in Congress

As long as Republicans allow themselves to be sidelined in these hearings, they make it appear a bipartisan process, giving an air of legitimacy to this kangaroo court.

It’s going to reach the point where impeachment becomes just another tool in the political arsenal.

you can BET that any impeachment will include all sorts of falsified charges including all the D-Commie slander buzz words we’ve been subjected to, such as “collusion” and “quid pro quo” and “sedition” and “corruption” and “emoluments” and all the rest of their garbage)

they KNOW that certain Senate GOP-e votes are in their pockets, having almost certainly been purchased long ago by their Puppetmeister SorozNazi and his evil ilk

I think the 2/3 constitutional conviction firewall will hold, but the D’s will still exploit their controlled mass media 24/7 “covering” this farce ... repounding their slanders into the American voters’ minds

and then they’ll claim they got “cheated” out of a conviction by the very same Constitution (one of their chief bugaboos, they hate it with a passion!)

and then they will appeal to the American voters to “set things right in WashDC”

OK, so explain to us what the Republicans can do to avoid “being sidelined” in this faux impeachment investigation.

I wouldn’t trust the Rep Senate for 1 minute!

They don’t even care if they lose the HOR Senate and the Presidency as far as I can tell.

They care not for US all they care about is the Benjamins!!!

Yes, that’s where we are headed. If this effort succeeds, that’s where we will end up.

So then, in the future, anytime there is a Democrat congress and Republican president, it will be routine for the Democrat congress to impeach that president. The implications of this go far beyond Trump.

Trump needs to start referring to Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler as Coup Co-Conspirators

If they succeed, there may be no future Republican presidents. I know this lifelong Republican would never support them again.

And it will have as much significance as calling someone a Nazi or Racist.

This is an exercise for future challenges by any Republican and their associates. The Dems flex their muscle even in places like the Red Hen Restaurant. Normally, the Right, claiming to be of good character and manners, will not get in the mud with them. They are becoming extremely frustrated as Donald J Trump will not cede to their power. The time has come for the Right to admit this is intended to destroy them and fight fire with fire.

How about if every Republican member of the House stood in front of the hearing room door and didn’t allow anyone to enter until they were guaranteed equal rights at the hearing?

Or how about if every Republican member of the House went to his constituency district and held an open forum press conference to explain how a coup d’etat is taking place in this country in complete secrecy.

Any number of things they could do. So why are they instead doing absolutely nothing? Most of them are complicit in what’s happening.

Easy question. McConnell should have called Pelosi and told her any witness that testifies before this Kangaroo court in the House will also be testifying before the GOP controlled Senate ASAP. Starting with the IC IG who is obviously a coupist.

Instead, McConnell has given the House Dem and Deep State coupists weeks to gaslight their message, destroy evidence and change tack as needed. I can only conclude that is because Do-Nothing McConnell does not care one bit if POTUS is impeached.

All very good ideas.

I’m not sure the “do nothing Repubs” are complicit as much as they are more interested in keeping their seat and fear retribution from the Party. Either way though, they are useless and need to go.

That should not bother us one bit after the way the GOP establishment has aided and abetted the ongoing coup against POTUS.

We just need to ask ourselves one question: Would Harry Reid sit in his Senate majority leader office and do nothing while a GOP House tried to conduct a coup against Obama? Not in a million years. That makes the GOP complicit in this coup. No doubt.
