You make a good point. A decent argument can be made for pulling the troops out. And a decent argument can be made for keeping the troops in place. So this is one issue where I’m okay with GOP congressmen voting their consciences.

I’d be much less forgiving when it comes to things like controlling illegal immigration.

“So this is one issue where I’m okay with GOP congressmen voting their consciences.”

You give them far too much credit for even having a conscience, they do not. Promoting War is one of the only true bipartisan efforts on the hill. It’s all about the dollar, and for the dollar there is no limit to the “acceptable collateral damage”. It is never for the reasons they claim. Dig deeper and you will find they personally stand to profit from it and could care less about the residuals or costs.

They’re not voting “conscience”. They’re following the orders of their big donors

I almost spewed coffee on that one. Most of those people don’t have consciences. There votes are directly related to either donations from donors or funding to their districts.

This was a completely inconsequential vote. It actually helps Trump run as a strong populist “outsider” again in 2020.

It’s the same people who refuse to defend our border who insist we must defend Syria’s.

The Turks, a NATO ally, break their security agreements with the US and the Kurds, and attack the Kurds, who we had an agreement to protect.

The GOP set this up. He bombs the Turks and he wrecks NATO. He strings out the Kurds, ISIS escapes.

It is an inside job. He is surrounded.

I think all this is a red herring. I think the REAL issue is congress critters making big money on constant war through the defense contractors. Trump is attacking that as he should.

As usual, the REAL issue is NEVER discussed. They are trading the blood of our children to line their pockets.

28 special ops force troops. What is the good argument for leaving them in place with an army massing across the border?

What is the good argument for taking on the responsibility to actually defend the Kurds (including the two groups that are terrorists with 40K murders on their hands, PKK & YPG) which would involve sending in thousands of troops to defend Syrian land against a NATO ally. The pap we are asked to swallow by the MSM & the war hawks is revoltingly thin gruel and doesn’t stand any but the most superficial analysis.
