Trump was having a helluva time filling in key posts in his administration as it was. He had such a small and tight campaign team that he didnt have the usual tail of office-seekers to pester him for appointments.
Yes, and remember what Comey said about Flynn and manipulating him into not having proper counsel:
"In his interview in New York City, Nicole Wallace asked him, Its hard to imagine two FBI agents ending up in the State Room. How did that happen? The audience erupted when Comey said dryly, I sent them. Something weve, I probably wouldnt have done or maybe gotten away with in a more organized investigation, a more organized administration. In the George W. Bush administration or the Obama administration, two men that all of us, perhaps, have increased appreciation for over the last two years. In both of those administrations there was process. He revealed, So if the FBI wanted to send agents into the White House itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the White House counsel and there would be discussions and approvals and it would be there. I thought, Its early enough, lets just send a couple of guys over.
The bottom line is that the FBI was working against the duly elected President of the United States. Instead of acting to protect the Presidency from threats, they were a threat, and continue to be.
And since he wasn’t a life-long politician, he didn’t have tons of people with government experience in his back pockets.
In other words....He didn’t owe anyone.
