More imbeciles confused as regards the difference between a republic and a pure democracy. The founders designed the country’s political system as that of a republic, and they put a good bit of thought into exactly that aspect of it.
It is kind of neat, however, that Republicans are favored in a republican structure, and Democrats in a mob-rule democracy.
Nice irony there, Stosh. Well said.
I wonder what the "studies" showed regarding states like California. Would more republican voters turn out knowing their vote actually counted, versus, why bother voting, California EVs are going to the democrats?
“More imbeciles confused as regards the difference between a republic and a pure democracy.”
That irritates me too, there are so many who think it is only a matter of “semantics” with no real difference in meaning but the founders specifically guaranteed a republican form of government in the constitution which nowhere mentions democracy which the founders considered an EVIL system. There are huge numbers in this country who think they know that Abraham Lincoln was a democrat and if they even know the name George Wallace believe he was a republican governor and if asked what form of government the constitution guarantees will answer a democracy. Many of these are supposedly highly educated people. WILLFUL ignorance is a huge problem in the USA.
