Resources for employers.

What employers?

State Farm is moving 14,000 techies from IL to GA, TX and AZ.

What took me so long to see / accept reality?

The irony is that a company will not offer a high salary package to anybody who has not already established they are worthy of a high salary.

if a new hire gets paid the same as me, it better never ask for help doing it's job...

Applicants can know what the job pays but the employer gets to ask about history? This change is long overdue, IMO.

As if Illinois needed yet another reason to flee to another state.

I haven’t heard about State Farm and the 14,000 people. Do you have a source?

Can’t they get this information elsewhere? I know for a fact that at least one contracting job I applied for, they already had an accurate salary history of me.

This doesn’t go nearly far enough in government involvement in employee/employer relationships. It would be better if the government just set the salaries and avoid all the nonsense negotiations.

“So, John...since we can no longer ask about your pay history, we’re just mmmgonna start you at minimum wage. I hope that equals or exceeds what you were paid previously.”

“The practice of using past pay to determine salary offers is a major contributing factor to the gender wage gap.”

There is no gender wage gap.
