“...There may not be a more conservative place on earth than right there....”
Amen. I don’t think rally attendees have too much to worry about from being harassed by Antifa there...LOL . I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if there aren’t a few dozen coonasses armed to the frickin’ teeth sitting outside to make sure they don’t.

I loved his opening when he said....”Proud to be with ‘ROCKED RIBBED ANERICANS’ BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT YOU ARE!”

It looks like I10 is closed... in the picture.. Is it?

*********

Don’t know the age of that photo but it looks like a crane under
the bridge working on something. So it’s possible it was closed,
but not in relation to the president being there.

JMO.

Funny you mention FDR fireside chats. Shortly after winning the election a note went in the return email which thanked me for my work in his campaign (also was given tickets to all events but was too ill to use).

Mentioned to him that he needed to keep in touch with us That a modern day fireside chat would help. Always thought his tweets were that but seeing how he has consistently had these huge “rallies” with all the media coverage just realized THEY are the true chats from his heart. The tweets are the reminders of what’s to come.

He is a master communicator.

Oh I would love to see those commie goons that showed up outside in Minnesota last night show up in Lake Charles!

That would be funny!

Yep. Actually, it would probably be pretty darn bloody. If any Antifa, by chance, even made it out alive, it would be an outright miracle. From my very humble experience, Cajuns are the very last people on the planet that you want to piss off.

"In 2015, the Calcasieu River Bridge became 63 years old. With over 600,000 bridges, the average bridge age in the United States is 42 years old, with one in nine rated as deficient. Louisiana has a total of 13,050 bridges, and 1,827 (14%) are considered deficient. 1,963 bridges (15%) are considered functionally obsolete.

It had been decided the bridge needed replacing since before 2002. There are several areas of concern including the age of the bridge, the low bridge ratings, steep grades, traffic congestion, amount of traffic that has been estimated at around 55,000 vehicles a day, low vertical traffic clearance, and contamination. These contributing factors rank the bridge as "a dangerous bridge" and 7th in the nation in need of replacing.

Wife and I were at the rally tonight. The Lake Charles Civic Center is not a large facility. Holds only 7500 folks. We arrived around 8 am and were situated at the front, and were in the first 100 to get in when the doors opened just before 3 pm. Arena was packed, with many outside that could not get in. We wore our Q shirt. We were caught by a camera, retweeted by Dan Scavino.

Besides hitting the usual notes: Pelosi, Biden, Impeachment, etc. He did a great job promoting the republican candidates that are running for Governor. Vote is on Saturday. It was a wonderful night, an electrifying experience... Love our President...

I think this is my first post on here but I have been reading FR for years several times a day. I wanted to reply to a couple of the above posts. The I-10 bridge was damaged by a barge during the last flood. Its down to two lanes with about a hour and half traffic delay.
There is a old saying that there is no better Cajun friend or a worst enemy. There has been a lot of problems solved in the swamps of La. Thanks for all the great posts and insightful information. KAG!

Yep that old US Hwy 90 bridge replaced a ‘draw bridge’ on US HWY 90 located a
little to it’s south and called the Louisiana Memorial World War II Bridge in June
1951. Then it became the IH-10 bridge when the IH-10 was completed. Later a
bypass to the South was built and it’s called the IH-210 bridge. These all crossed
the Calcasieu River.

Didn’t know about the barge damage. Which are they
using the north or the south lanes or one of each?
That has got to be a nightmare with all the traffic
that IH-10 has.

I think they diverted the south side of the bridge lanes to the north side lanes. (east bound) Two lanes, one east and one west. The have been working on I-10 from Beaumont to La. for many, many years. Lake Charles was a sleepy little town until the casino’s and the oil industry showed up.

Petro/chemical industry has been in the Lake Charles area
since back in the day. Glad to hear of some expansion projects.

I went to a funeral at that civic center in 2015 for Trooper Steven Vincent who was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on I-10. I was in uniform at the viewing and the funeral director handed me his card and said “If you ever need anything from me give me a call.” I thought if I need anything from you it sure as hell won’t be me calling.
