Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez whos waged war against the wealthy with a 70 percent tax rate proposal shelled out more than $250 on a recent trip to the hair salon, according to a new report.
The socialist darling dropped big bucks $80 on a haircut and $180 for lowlights last month at Last Tangle Salon in downtown Washington, DC, the Washington Times reported, citing sources.
The outlet noted that a 20 percent tip, or $52, would bring the total to just over $312, while suggesting she couldve saved about $100 for a chop at the government-subsidized Capitol Hill barbershop.
A salon staffer said Ocasio-Cortez was nice and even snapped selfies with customers.

For DC, that really doesn’t sound all that expensive.
I wouldnt expect a woman to go to a barber shop. Theres plenty of things to get AOC on, this aint one of them.
Our little socialist is getting a taste of the good life and is liking it!
Socialism if for the little people anyway.
But she’s in the business where a $175,000 salary can provide a person a net worth of over $10 million dollars in just a couple of years. So I guess she can afford a nice haircut.
I would suggest that most people with her salary, in her (very expensive) location, would choose to have haircuts that were a little less pricey. But perhaps she has uhhhh other sources of income from somewhere.
For DC, that really doesnt sound all that expensive.
I agree. Im in Atlanta and I spend a minimum $300 when I go. But then, Im not a socialist.
She will be a multi millionaire eventually. When she writes a book, it will be a best seller. And she may well get a seven figure advance on it.
If she loses elections in the future, she will get jobs on corporate bosrds, and speaking fees as she hits the lecture circuit.
She’s never going to be a bartender again. She’s in a different class now. The liberals love her. She’s one of them and they will take care of her. Heck, I can see her as an MSNBC talking head someday.
She already knew the good life raised mostly in Westchester county
Billy Jeff tied up AF1 for a 200 buck haircut didn’t he?
It sounds pricey to me.
Then again I’m a balding male, with not much to work with...
I go to a basic barber shop, where the prices are $8 for the basic men’s haircut, and $12 for the basic women’s cut.
Of course they charge more if you want specific cuts in styling or coloring. But for the basics it’s a good place.
There’s no way a cheapo like AOC tipped over $50.
My haircut at a NYC barbershop costs $ 38.
Exactly.
My hairdresser undercharges me (we were neighbors and now, friends) so I only spend about $100 or so. Plus, I live in Podunk. lol
But, yes, $250 doesn’t seem all that high, considering they generally charge per foil. Plus, haircut, wash, blow-dry etc. I generally tip about 25% so, yeah, hers doesn’t seem bad at all.
Snort! Lowlights - how appropriate!
Are lowlights similar to highlights? I know nothing of hair so bear with me. Since she has coal black hair, wouldn’t she get highlights, or some lighter areas ? I’ve seen some women that way.
I just spent 180. These darn beauty shops ain’t cheap.
I was at the barber last month, $10 is the rate. Guy came in without much hair, asked for a buzz. Took about 90 seconds. I think the barber wanted the guy to feel like he was getting his moneys worth, so he went over the same ground twice, that accomplished nothing, in terms of cutting hair .
She ought to go to one of the “hair salons” in Ferguson, MO. They could do it for $15-20.
My haircut here in S.C. is $14, two dollars off on vets/seniors day, which I make up with the tip.
AOC is living the high life, like most House liberals. No inconsistency there.
Guys, I hate to break this to you, but most women in this country will not have a good opinion of anyone dumb enough to drop $300+ in a hair salon, whether she can afford it or not.
