The U.S. military should not be filing such patents.
Filing a patent reveals to much about the patented process/item.
I doubt the Manhattan Project operated on filing patents.
When our military reveals something they have already moved on from that tech. Maybe its time to commercialize the tech and start mining asteroids and stuff.
The Manhattan project was secret because we were developing new tech. These are not new tech and there is no one to protect it from as the Chinese (?) and Soviets (by ‘45 or so?) have likely had much of it for a long time.
