Investigators became aware of the posts last week, including one dated Sept. 26 showing the man holding two AK-47 guns -- one in each hand, pointing skyward, fingers on triggers. The caption on the photo read: "One ticket for joker please," according to Redmond police.
The post comes as U.S. officials had issued warnings about the potential for mass shootings at the movie, which opened on Thursday to increased security around the Seattle-area movie theaters. FBI intelligence officials had uncovered social media posts related to extremists classified as 'incels' -- short for "involuntary celibate" -- and the man had been claiming to be one of them.
Investigators learned that the man had previous disturbing and threatening social media posts toward women in 2017, according to Redmond police's petition for being granted an Extreme Protection Order.

If I were as nuts as this guy is I should be “next”. Contrary to the opinion of some, firearms are not toys to be played with by people who can’t adjust to reality. Wrong. Read again. The clear and present danger test from Schenck v. United States, has been overruled.
The test is now the Brandenburg test, “clear and present danger” isn’t enough:
“The speech is “directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action,” AND
The speech is “likely to incite or produce such action.”
Mere advocacy isn’t enough. See Hess v. Indiana (1973) and Watts v. United States (1969).

Unless they have actual quotes I don’t believe any characterization of “disturbing and threatening” posts.
Possibly they were. More likely the posts just didn’t toe the PC line.
So far as we know there has been no rodeo. Just a “joke” meme and some possibly questionable posts.
I know they’re out there.... but there are very few AK ghost guns on the street. Vast majority are AR.

Was not addressed to you or anyone in particular. It is what happens to those misuse FRee Republic. You won’t see Their post or thread for long and even if it stays someone who wants to ‘turn in’ said ‘threatening’ person making apparent threats does not know who you are. A police investigation might get to locate who and where you are. But there are layers that would have to be unveiled.
On Facebook etc your name and face is out there for all to see. And acquaintances on and off line might turn you in if they consider you a threat to life and limb.

If the Police did not have enough to arrest this man they POSITIVELY did not have the authority to seize anything. What you are "OK" with from the police is far far more dangerous than someone making a ill timed social media posting.

Yeah... I don't do facebook or twitter or any of that stuff... I have sisters and sister-in-laws, nephews, cousins and who knows what that do and now they seem to all hate each other. No - the fat no one wants to be around him just makes him a loser and a creepy guy. Making “jokes” about doing theatre massacres and wanting to shoot women is what makes him nuts. Shouldn’t be all that hard to understand, work with it a while.
