Lying about an affair is not a particularly high crime. I almost don’t blame Clinton for lying about Monica.
That’s because an affair is usually none of the public’s business.
Am I wrong here?
IMO, you’re supporting the “BJ Clinton was impeached because of sex” narrative, rather than for his lying under oath.
Unless it’s a Republican.
If you are President of the most powerful, sovereign national entity in the known universe and under oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend’...it’s no longer JUST your business. You know that going in.
It’s the ‘business’ of other people too at that point.... starting with, but NOT limited TO, the people you made an oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend’.
Thanks to Linda Tripp, a lot of stuff got under the glare of public notice and put the President and the US in a jackpot.
We are weak when we are compromised... over ANYTHING.
It’s not a problem for Joe Shmo, but for a US President it IS.
If you don’t do it in the Oval Office.
You are a CHEATER,
I guess it depends on who you lie to, eh?
in clintoon’s case, it was a Grand Jury.
That will get ya in hot water...
lying to Congress...not so much.
“Thats because an affair is usually none of the publics business.
Am I wrong here?”
Page and Strzok were married FBI agents with top security clearances. Secret, extramarital affairs among such people are always of great concern because of the risk of blackmail or other forms of compromise. So, yes, you are wrong about this.
