In recent days, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) has been fielding calls from GOP donors itching for him to primary President Trump in 2020, a person close to Romney told Vanity Fair.
"There is a half-billion dollars on the sidelines from guys who are fed up with Trump," one donor told Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman. Romney has been one of the few Republican voices to speak out against Trump's attempts to get foreign leaders to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, tweeting on Friday that his "brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine ... is wrong and appalling." It would be good for Trump if Romney ran. He has absolutely 0 chance of derailing Trump or even hurting him, but he would energize Trump voters to get out and vote in the primaries. This would be a huge bonus for down ballot candidates who are campaigning as Trump supporters. We would end up with a more pro Trump slate of candidates all the way down the ballot.

How can he run when the GOP has canceled primaries and caucuses? Good question.
Mitt is gonna keep his powder try for another run in 2024.

turn dem and take on Beto
Mitt can go suck it. He got his ass kicked against Obama in his birth state. I voted against him twice here. If I had a do over, I’d write in Tom Izzo in November 2012.
