What’s strong about not sharing a common language, a common culture and a common history?

The biggest thing is common values. It’s hard to integrate when values clash. This is why for over a thousand years Christians and muslims have clashed: we do not share common values. For exmple one side thinks murdering women and gays is fine and the other side finds it abhorrent. How does putting two such groups together lead to strength?
