I can’t blame Bush for trying to undermine Trump. After all, Trump was the first Republican candidate to publicly tell the truth about Bush - that he was a disastrous president. Before Trump came along, no one had the guts to say that out loud.

I couldn't agree more. I defended GWB, many times, specifically because I thought he was a patriot and had the best interest of the US and its citizens in his heart. I was wrong. He ‘thinks’ he does. But he is also wrong about this. Despite his ‘simple’ language, and all of his everyman activities - like ‘removing the underbrush’ on his ranch etc. etc., he's a monied elitist - and wouldn't have been President if he wasn't.
