If that were the case, why wouldn't Trump name a replacement? Why does he need a "deal" in order to do that?

Neither Trump nor Pence could be removed from office without the votes of 2/3 of the Senators. Also, Trump can fire anyone in the executive branch, except VP Pence.
If the VP office becomes vacant, approval of the House of Representatives is required for the President to name a replacement VP. I think that is how Nelson Rockefeller and Gerald Ford became VP.

The Dems insist that Trump is an illegitimate president because he didn’t win the popular vote. But the same Dems would be fine with installing Pelosi as president without having received a single popular vote.

I have thought from the beginning that this impeachment issues is about ousting Trump and Pence so Nancy could make history as the first woman president.
She needs to instead make history as the first woman Speaker of the House imprisoned/executed for treason and graft.
It is obvious from the muttering of idiots like this that none of them see impeachment as a tool to remove a highly corrupt politician. Rather, it is a tool to allow the left to remain in power regardless of election results.
The left’s current narrative is that Trump is promoting a civil war. Sure, the narrative serves their propaganda purposes. However, Trump is merely a messenger on this topic. If civil war happens, it is the doing of the left: the stealing of election after election, their terrorists intimidating and attacking people who just want to be left alone to live their lives, and their blatant attempts to force legally elected politicians out of office. All of these actions make it clear to those who are paying attention that we are dangerously close to a socialist takeover, and we will fight it.
