Well when you see gross error....sigh. It’s hard not to comment.
I get in too much of a hurry because I’m always trying to do about 11 things at once. Even now.
So I make a lot of typos.
But a news organization, they could maybe, dunno, hire a few editors.
I remember at one job when there was a stern letter from the back office with the ending:
“I except your cooperation!”
Not “expect” but “except” so I guess we didn’t have to cooperate at all.
And here I thought ‘except’ was a homonym for ‘accept’ and wondered why he wasn’t demanding cooperation, instead of merely accepting it.
I’m sure you’ll take exception to this! :-)
Some spelling errors drive me up a wall, but using the WRONG word, well...that's inexcusable; especially when it is one that means the exact opposite of what the writer meant! And this is not an eggregious mistake on forum site, but a published article!
