McConnell is an asshole and always has been. The fact remains though that there is nothing in the constitution requiring the Senate to act on any House impeachment at all.

Yeah, he said the constitution requires him to accept a impeachment decision from the house.

House Republicans need to file suit to enjoin illegal impeachment process.

” Hopefully, the Reaper will soon snatch it’s nasty soul and carry it back to hell from whence it came.”

You can forget about that , my man. Only the good die young. Evil lives forever. As evidenced by Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Maxine Waters.

They have the votes, but they don’t want the rights the GOP would have if a formal vote is taken. If the Reps have the right of subpoena, the whole charade would be exposed. The Dems prefer a kangaroo court.

/”He referred specifically to a Senate rule in place which would require 67 votes to change - he was hardly ambiguous.”

Ok, but does the Constitution actually say the Senate MUST even hold a vote?

The senate absolutely should start committing to rapid fire confirming as many judges as they possibly can every single day until this stops

The senate has its internal rules...just as the House does. He doesn’t have the votes to change them.

I’ve noticed that Pelosi is now saying that investigating a candidate is interfering with an election. Obama did that to Trump for a year.

Since they’re “co-equal” branches, Can Trump serve congress subpoenas?

Investigate them.

There are enough Senators like Milt Romley who are salivating at the prospect of impeaching him.

McCain, bless his heart, would be leading the pack.

I hope he’s really hot about now.

It’s good to know that Pelosi isn’t doing any of this with the intention of interfering with the 2020 election.

Fanatical liberals, being lousy at intrigue, (see exposed fake russian collusion, latest fake whistler, etc.) are obviously too dense to notice.

In other words, orange man guilty. Now try to prove his innocence. Oh, he can’t have a lawyer or call witnesses or even speak.

And little Johnny Roberts will go right along with this farce. Be careful, be very careful.

The Senate trial will give the President the right to discovery, subpoena witnesses, and cross examination. It will get the wrong doing by the Democrats front and center and the media will have to cover it. If there is no trial the Democrats will scream “Cover up” and “No justice”. Better the Democrats be forced to take their own medicine and be exposed by the president’s attorneys. An acquittal hands the Dems. a defeat they could have avoided.

Congressional members could do an end run on Pelosi, and each make a public statement how they would vote today for impeachment.

Those who are not able to support it at this time, would be the only ones who would need to make a public statement. The silent ones would be considered a yes vote.

If enough made a public statement, end of story. Pelosi would be forced to confront the reality of the mutiny.

If Mitch McConnel has the cojones, he would simply say, since you failed to follow the impeachment process, we in the Senate are under no obligation to hold a trial until you do and so let it hang there.
