Whistleblower contacted Schiff before filing complaint: report
The Hill ^ | October 2, 2019 | Chris Mills Rodrigo

The CIA officer whose whistleblower complaint is at the center of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump consulted with the House Intelligence Committee before filing it, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

The whistleblower initially had a colleague convey his concerns that Trump asked Ukraine's leader to intervene in the 2020 presidential election to the CIA's top lawyer before going to Congress, current and former officials told the Times.

The whistleblower then reportedly changed course and spoke to an Intelligence Committee staff member who suggested that the person hire a lawyer and file a complaint.

The staffer shared part of the whistleblower's concerns with the committee's chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), but did share the person's identity with anyone, according to the Times.

“Like other whistle-blowers have done before and since under Republican and Democratic-controlled committees, the whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community,” Patrick Boland, a spokesperson for Schiff, told the newspaper.

The development will likely add to Trump's attack that the whistleblower was motivated by partisan interests.

The complaint was eventually released to the public last Thursday.

“...COLLUSION! But nah, thats only when a Republican does it, when a Dem does it its “Hey thats different shut up!” By the way, there is NO whistleblower, its Adam Schiff, he’s the “Whistleblower”...”

Yes, Schiff-head should be in an orange jump suit. COLLUSION for sure.

Well, duh, the whistleblower letter was addressed to Schift.

Funny how the letter wasn't addressed or sent to the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Stolen and adapted from fact-check.com as a joke...

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher here in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Adam Schiff’s great-great uncle, Remus Schiff, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Adam Schiff share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory.

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: ‘Remus Schiff, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.’

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Adam Schiff for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Adam Schiff’s staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research: ‘Remus Schiff was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.’

John Roberts asked Trump about this new Information. Among other things Trump said Schiff helped the whistleblower write it.

Again that's amazingly good journalism for a Canadian disc jockey.

You have a genuine coup attempt here. A party apparatus trying to take down a sitting President with fabricated evidence and wiling accomplices in the media. Enforce the law Mr President and appoint a special council and let's get grand jurys and arrests. One house of the legislative branch is acting like all three branches of government and corrupt ones to boot.

Considering how many falsehoods the whistleblowers complaint contained, looks like Pencil-neck is guilty of participating in fraud.

And I will say again that ICIG Michael Atkinson is as much to blame as anyone and maybe even more because despite the obvious falsehoods, he certified the complaint calling it "credible" and of "urgent concern." In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Atkinson was defending it just the other day. He needs to be hauled in front of multiple committees in open proceedings and hammered, after which the President should summarily fire him for utter incompetence.

Are there any pictures?

When a whistleblower seeks guidance, staff advises them to get counsel and go to an IG.

That’s what they’re supposed to do.

Unlike a president pressing a foreign leader to dig up dirt on a political opponent.

That’s not what a president is supposed to do.

And we all know it.

IIRC, the letter was also sent to Richard Burr, who chairs (nominally, anyway) the Senate Intel Cmte.
