Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says Japan firmly protests North Korea's ballistic missile launches.

Abe told reporters on Wednesday morning that North Korea had fired two ballistic missiles earlier in the day. He said Japan firmly protests and condemns the launches, which violate UN Security Council resolutions.

Abe said the government will work with the United States and the international community under heightened security to ensure the safety of the Japanese people.

After Abe spoke to reporters, the government convened a meeting of the National Security Council, attended by Abe, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, and Defense Minister Taro Kono.

They are believed to have analyzed information and discussed Japan's handling of the situation.

Rocket Punk is showing a lot of respect for Trump. He needs to be slapped around like a spoiled brat that he is.

David Sanger dispatch:

“Japan said North Korea had launched two ballistic missiles, one flying far enough to fall in its exclusive economic zone. Wednesday’s test was the first time a North Korean missile had landed in Japanese waters in nearly two years, evoking memories of a period when the Japanese public was awakened to alarms warning of potential missile landings. The launch also comes as Japan and South Korea are increasingly at odds, and as the South plans to withdraw from a military-intelligence sharing pact with Japan.”

Let’s see what happens when POTUS weighs in.

Last time there were some deaths in Syria (or Spain?) at the NK embassy there related to these unauthorized launches and Kim apologized to POTUS for them.

Heard that. Remember the Pueblo and the RC-121? They’re ready to go nuclear at any moment.

Holy crap, guys!!

“Various sources are reporting that North Korea test-launched two ballistic missiles tonight on lofted trajectories. One of the missiles is reported to have reached a maximum altitude of 910 km (570 miles) and splashed down at a range of 450 km (280 miles) from the launch point. This missile would have had a burnout speed of about 3.74 km/s with a loft angle of 81.5 degrees, and a flight time of about 17 minutes. If flown on a standard trajectory with the same payload, that missile would have a maximum range of about 1,900 km (1,200 miles). This would classify the missile as medium range (1,000 to 3,500 km).”

One often wonders. If they are smarter than we give them credit for. Or if we are more stupid than we think we are.

It is a horrible movie playing over and over and over for the last 30 years.
