Well, not really...

If you blow up a mine it’s gone forever.

If you feed an alligator, he’ll be hungry for more in a day or two. Even big pythons feel “the need for feed” within a month of eating a full grown pig.

Those are, incidentally still present on the Cuban side of the US Base at Guantanamo. Don’t know if the base still allows Cuban day workers in through a single gate and walkway in- through theirs and then our guard gates.

A business contact was Gitmo hospital commander years back— and said that Cubans tried to escape INTO Gitmo, and often at night he could hear the mines going off. The Cubans would leave them there in the dark and come out into the mine field using both a map and detectors— to tread out and collect the bodies.
