The corruption goes very deep on both sides of the aisle. Trump ran on, among other things, draining The Swamp. As a result The Swamp has been fighting back tooth and claw. This includes the media. Yes, they are mostly Leftists, but it goes deeper than that. The media has a disgustingly lucrative symbiotic relationship with the DC political class. They don’t want it to end.
I don’t know. It occurred to me during the Smollett thing that we assume the Rats run the media. What if it is actually the other way around?
IOW, just who are we actually dealing with? Who really holds the power? Seems like a pretty good candidate would be extremely wealthy people who own the media. Bezos is one. Zuckerburg. If they own the Rats as well their power is secure. Money without power is just a liability. So what we have her are corrupt oligarchs who are above the law. “Deep State” is one term that implies they are government employees which is sort of ridiculous, really. Government employees doing the bidding of folks like Bezos.
