It is a multi-mission unit, for the Coast Guard's aviation and capabilities development center. Training is conducted to qualify pilots in the MH-60 Jayhawk, MH-65 Dolphin, and HC-144 Ocean Sentry. All pilots initially train at ATC, and will return once a year for a one-week proficiency course in their assigned airframes.

Officer cadets from the United States Coast Guard Academy who are pursuing aviation careers also train at ATC. Serving within the Coast Guard's Force Readiness Command's Training Division (FC-T), the center is responsible for certifying all Coast Guard pilots are using their equipment and tactics to meet all mission requirements.

The operations department flies the HC-144A Ocean Sentry, which is a segment within the ATC command that conducts search and rescue, homeland security, and environmental protection missions. The operations department operates under the tactical control of the Eighth Coast Guard District and has an area of responsibility that extends from the Louisiana/Texas border to the eastern edge of the Florida panhandle.

Howdy, LUV.

Not cooled off AT ALL. We have three more sweltering days, then a cold front comes through to back the temps off to the low to mid 80s.

Bella’s doing fine. It’ll take a day or so for the shots to take effect and give her some relief. She’s still pretty wheezy tonight but she didn’t get nearly as bad as I’d expected with our air being so nasty. I was worried it would set off asthma attacks big time.

LOL! Glad to be back in your desert, are ya? Weird that it’s cooler there.

But aren’t you glad it isn’t as “cool” as it is in JH? BRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Man, what we wouldn’t give for cooler and wet here! LOL! We’ll cool off a little Friday but our next shot at rain is next Monday. Maybe.

Bummer the weather crapped out over the weekend and spoiled your plans for the fair.

The guys got most of the heavy things out of Aunt Martha’s house over the weekend but it was so hot, they didn’t get everything. Can’t blame them.

No telling when we’ll start moving our stuff here over to that house. I was ready to go months ago. LOL

Winter has sure come there much earlier than last year. Funny.....summer won't end here and they've gotten very little fall. The leaves have had to change colors in double time. LOL!

I'll bet you are DREAMING of those cooler days. After spending time in weather that is just like yours, I can see why. Of course, this summer has been an anomaly........I hope. If it cools off soon, you can finish the work you need to get done over at Martha's. It's 79 here right now, 88 in Ft. Worth and 30!!! in JH. Somewhere in between would suit me just fine!

It’s been a crazy summer, no doubt. We wonder if we’ll have any fall here or will go straight into winter. It’s happened more than once.
After this long dry spell, we won’t get much in the way of fall colors. A lot of leaves are turning brown now that would normally be colorful.

Yeah, heat along with humidity is fun, huh? NOT! LOL! Still waiting for pix to be posted with you and your frizzy hair. :-)

Whew! TOO cold at JH! It’s 70 here at the moment and feels pretty nice. I’ve been out at the garage for a bit with Hubby and his cousin.

I’m not sure who even took pictures, but sometimes it takes a while to get them organized and processed. Just keep refreshing. LOL!

We had a beautiful fall last year, but no telling what it’ll be like. The leaves might still be green on Christmas day. I guess brown IS a color...just dark.

I keep checking back periodically. Little by little more pix are posted.

No green leaves at Christmas around here. The only green are pines and cedars and a lot of those are turning brown. One of our blue atlas cedars is dead and the other isn’t far behind.

I see that ‘Gunner posted his drone shots of the area. They are amazingly clear. It really is a very cool place to stay.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Did you enjoy another quiet day at the lake? Was Gizmo able to roam free of the leash so he could sniff for critters?

I saw his drone shots earlier. It looks like a really nice place. Love the shot of the lake with the sun’s reflection.

We had to take the day off from the lake for some business. We will do Waurika Lake later today.

I gotta tell you though, I really do get a kick out of Gizmo when he carries things around in his mouth and walks around the yard whining and whimpering((LOL)). Yesterday I saw him carry a slice pf pizza that I fixed for us on Saturday((LOL))

He really is a character.:-D

It was beautiful. Scott, the man who has Cherokee, said last time we were here that there is an eagle’s nest somewhere near the lake. I’d have to take his word for it.

Oh oh. A day off from the lake? Gizmo will be rarin’ to go today. Better have the leash handy! LOL

Critters are funny when they find something to carry around. No matter what it is, it’s a Grand Prize. :-)

I’d forgotten you were told there’s an eagle nest at that lake. It’s a perfect area for it. Too bad you didn’t get to see them soaring around.

It’s been too hot to hang around outside lately so I haven’t seen our eagles for a while or heard the young ‘uns in the trees behind the barn calling for food.

I saw some big birds but I think they were buzzards. No white heads, and fledglings are pretty nondescript.

I’m REALLY jealous that you have eagles close enough to hear their sreeing for food. LOL!

Guess I’d better head out. I have BOTH kitties on the bed right now. I guess they missed me. Peaches has been really clingy and hubby said they were while I was gone. Aww. The outside kitties were just the same. Food!!! Pet me...now quit.

We have plenty of buzzards around here. It’s wild when a flock of them soar in a tornado formation.

This is the first year I’ve heard fledglings on the farm. I just wish I could have spotted one of them. I’ve seen the parents several times.

Oh boy! Lucky you! Peaches AND Ginger tonight! Good luck getting sleep. LOL You had to know it was coming, though, since you ran away from home for a few days. :-)

Yep...it's windy.
However, it's not a hot wind
....so feels kinda good.
I wish it was blowing in a cold front.
Hope it's a pretty day where you are!
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
(((hugs)))

“I wish it was blowing in a cold front.”

Yeah, and in January you’ll be complaining about the cold and wishing for HOT weather! ;-)

I didn’t last year. I dreaded it because I knew what was ahead.
