The House Judiciary Committee's Assault Weapons Ban Fallout

If you want to see how extreme the Democrats have gotten on gun control, you just had to listen to a House Judiciary Committee hearing last week.

It is one thing for Democrats such as Beto O'Rourke and Rep. Eric Swalwell (R-CA) to call for confiscating AR-15s and civilian versions of AK-47s. But in the committee hearing this past Wednesday, the loudest applause came when Democratic witnesses called for bans on all or at least the vast majority of guns.

"I believe that any weapon that can be used to hunt individuals should be banned," announced Charlottesville Police Chief RaShall M. Brackney in the hearing. Brackney and other witnesses showed just how far the Democratic Party has gone on gun control in only a few years.

Brackney was given a chance by Congressman Greg Steube (R-FL) to correct the record if she might have misspoken, but she only doubled down. Steube pointed out that any firearm could be used to hunt people down, and Brackney responded by repeating the point. She only clarified that police and the military would still be able to have guns.

First they come for the guns that fire "bullets"... The they come for kitchen knives with "points"...

Hmmm... That must be an absurd statement... Snicker

Granted, I was using the wrong (Sheriff) dept to point out hands on AND political positions.

‘Good’ example of today v yesterday.

I got out of the USN in 1964 after 8 years, in good physical and mental health (after all I was a Submarine Volunteer) and while looking for work I went to the local State Police barracks and asked for an application.
I was 6’ 148lbs soaking wet with shoes, ALL my military obligation completed (important then) and they all but laughed in my face, telling me that height had to be proportioned to weight and even I realized I would not be the cookie cutter image of a State Police/Highway Patrol type...(YES, Broderick Crawford was NOT skinny BUT he was a ‘boss’).

Of course, for whatever reason ‘they’ had, a year of college became more important than real life experience and I do realize in some localities in the 1960s a college credit or two definitely ‘knocked out’ certain applicants, height & weight took care of others and the physical requirements took care of the rest.

So, in effect a ‘minority’ in the Virginia State Police at the time had to basically be a college educated, Atlas type and the ladies could just keep walking to the secretarial pool.

Discriminatory? At least it was basically the best of the best that were chosen and we didn’t have 5’2 girls getting hired as prison guards and then have ALL wring their hands in despair when something ‘happened’.

Like the handful of girls ‘they’ ended up pushing into HS Football and no one would take the time to think of why she has whiplash, no kidney etc etc etc.

We ALL don’t belong EVERYWHERE just because we ‘want to’

If the left wants to institute a sweeping gun ban, I'm not sure who they think is going to enforce it. Beto and Chief Brackney had better be ready to suit up and do it themselves.

The end result:

".... Don't give them the benefit of the doubt....They're not "insane"....They're not "stupid"....They're evil...."

The sooner people understand the true nature of liberals and democRATS, the sooner they'll realize who the enemy within is.

What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not understand?

How about ALL of it!! The bill of rights are not designed to address what the Government has a right to do - e.g. form a miliatia - but rather what the Fed Govt CANNOT DO. Baraq Insane Soetoro understood that all to well when he called the Constitution a set of Negative Rights - that is what he was bitching about.
